Black Box Extension
A chain house from the 1950s was updated with an extension to fit a young family on a fairly tight budget. It accomodates a new master bedroom, bathroom and a living room, connected to a new terrasse with concrete planters and pergola. Built in 2023.
Thick insulation in combination with natural ventilation through roof windows and built in external blinders makes the indoor climate good over shifting seasons.
The concrete slab filled with local stone was used as a floor, guaranteeing low maintenance over the years.
